Minyip is a small rural town located in the Wimmera region of northwestern Victoria, Australia, with the postcode 3392. It sits about 320 km northwest of Melbourne and falls under the Shire of Yarriambiack local government area. 

The town is known for its strong agricultural background, particularly wheat and barley farming, which is why it is often referred to as the “Heart of the Wheat Belt.” Minyip has a small population and offers a quiet country lifestyle with essential services such as a primary school, local shops, a café, a post office, and basic health facilities. 

The surrounding landscape is flat and open, dominated by large grain fields, and the climate is typically hot and dry in summer. Minyip is also known for its cultural significance as a filming location for the television series The Flying Doctors and the movie The Dry, adding to its recognition despite its small size.
